I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Dear Residents,
We want to make you aware of a recent increase in incidents across our community involving packages containing illegal drugs/substances being delivered to residential addresses. These deliveries are often made without the knowledge or involvement of the actual occupants. Shortly after delivery, individuals arrive at these addresses attempting to collect the packages. It was common that in the past packages were delivered in the in another person’s name, but more recently the packages have shown the correct occupant’s details
🚨 What to Look Out For: • Parcels delivered to your address that you are not expecting or did not order. • Strangers approaching your home asking for packages. • Delivery labels with incorrect or suspicious details. • Repeat deliveries from unknown senders. • Packages containing items that are securely wrapped or resembles drugs.
✅ What You Can Do: 1. Report suspicious deliveries or behaviour immediately via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency) or attend the police station. 2. Be careful when opening/handling these packages 3. Use doorbell cameras or CCTV to monitor activity around your property. 4. Do not accept packages you did not order or on behalf of others 5. Speak with neighbours and encourage vigilance. 6. Keep a record of all deliveries and notify couriers of any anomalies.
